Suitcase For Traveling Part 2

Suitcase For Traveling Part 2

I hope you enjoy this little idea, but it does take a bit of time. The decoupage requires layers of coats to give a smooth feel, the wrinkles are not even felt when it is all done. You will be so happy to have this suitcase to pack your projects in for your next adventure.

The top picture is side one and then this is side two.

Down the side I used some of my buttons that is so hard for me to part with, they put the icing on the cake though.

For the inside, when I opened this suitcase I loved it. Who doesn't like yellow and white polka dots. You don't come across to many with the insides in good shape.

Pack it up with some of your goodies to bring and your off to be with friends. Have to pack some of my towels to bring them. Can't wait for the next getaway, hope it's soon.

Keep Stitchen'

Love the button detail! I am on the lookout for an old suitcase. Lots of garage sales over the weekend but no luck. Thanks so much! You are so creative.

What a very cool idea. Where are you finding the old patterns? I used to see them everywhere, but now cannot find any.

This turned out really great. I am just not a glue type person though.. and would hate the wet mess. :-) I do admire those who can do it though!

What an incredible case. I love it! I especially like your idea of adding the buttons. I just ordered my first ever decoupage books. I've never done dcoupage before but am so eager to learn. I want to do some pieces for the shop my friend and I have recently opened together. Love your blog and have enjoyed my first visit. ♥

Hi there, I am hosting a book swap over on my blog. It is a permanent feature, which will always be on my blog, it is not a one off, like the rose theme swap I'm hosting. I have listed a load of my books which I am willing to swap, take a look, there may be some you fancy. If you would like to list books which you no longer want, and are willing to swap, just contact me at rosehyacinth@hotmail.co.uk, or leave a comment on my blog, with your name, the name of your blog and the books you wish to swap, and I will type them up and post them on the swap page, so the more and more people who participate, the wider the range of books there will be to choose from, and remember, it will always be there on my blog.
Take Care

What a fabulous idea. I'm going to have to be on the look out of old patterns and a old suitcase at the thrift store. I need one of those.

I've had two old suitcases for ages. I use to stack them along with an antique picnic basket to use as a side table. I have wanted to do something like this to store small handmade scrapbooks in. But I love the old pattern cover idea. I might have to copy for my sewing area. Love your blog first time I've been on it. Checking it out per Mary Janes Farm Magazine.
