I need to post more...Sneak Peek and I'm going on a retreat!!!

I need to post more...Sneak Peek and I'm going on a retreat!!!
x

Oh, I have got to slow down and post, visit other blogs that I love to visit, sew, cut fabric and get ready for a retreat. I get to bring fabric to sale at the retreat and we leave this coming Thursday. The ladies buy it better if it is ready for them to take in fat quarters, 1/2 yards or 1 yard cuts. Hope to take some pictures of what I'm taking. This is the first retreat I've been on with the guild members and it will be a blast.
x

The picture is a sneak peek of just part of an item I'm sending to my Christmas in July partner. It is a big tease of a picture.
x
I know this is a short post, but I'll be back soon. I have to make a wall hanging for the door of my room. We are having a little contest and games that we play to win fat quarters.

Linda's New Bag Pattern

x
Linda's New Bag Pattern
x
I had so much fun making Linda's new bag pattern. You have to go see all the different versions and colors @ http://all-stitched-up.blogspot.com/. I think it's so interesting to see such talent be given a pattern and all the creative juices see it made in so many different ways and they all work. Thank you Linda for a great pattern and to give us an opportunity to test it out. Best of Luck on your new adventure.
x
x
I haven't been able to visit every one's blogs lately, but I will soon. Putting the finale touches on the Christmas in July Swap, gotta mail it, count down is on.

It feels like it has been forever...

x
It feels like it has been forever...
Since I've posted.
x
We had a great July 4Th weekend and I haven't stopped since I've gotten home. It was so HOT, that was the only thing. 1st grandbaby's birthday was great for the kids, but us grownups melted. Had a blowout on the boat trailer coming home and my husband and son looked down and they were changing the tire in poison ivy. So they ended up throwing water balloons at each other after it was changed. If you get into poison ivy and wash it off right away, you shouldn't break out. (They didn't, Yea). Sorry, I can't move my pictures around once I downloaded them.
x
Got home late, washed clothes and then off to Houston moving all of my son's belongings, just me and him. Helped him set up his apartment and came back Tuesday late. Now by this time, I can't move to well.
x
Today, I had fun and went to my little sewing bee and had a little class on a new project. Just need to border it and I'll show a picture. I did mine in Christmas fabric so it might go to my swap partner as an extra something, not sure.
x
Now before I left for the July 4Th weekend, I got a package of some items I won from Jennifer @ http://sweetlibertygrace.blogspot.com/. Look at all this loot. I was so excited and I had so much to read on my trip. Thank you so much Jennifer for this giveaway. If you haven't visited her blog, you need to go, she has a great one.
x
Tomorrow is another day...My Mom's camp was broken into and since Mom has passed we have stored a lot of items from her house here. So now I have to go see what all is missing. We know they took the air condition unit, this is how they got into the camp. I hope they stay cool, cause I'm really hot about it.
x
My plans for the weekend is to sew, sew, sew. It always relaxes me.

Scrappy Purse and Visitors

x
Scrappy Purse and Visitors
x
I finished my scrappy purse this morning and it was one of those ideas you have that took more time than you thought it would. When I make purses I just dive in and I almost sunk with this one. Wanted to sew WST and bind it all the way around, in the end I was pleased. I love to braid my handles on purses. It really stays on your shoulder, if you haven't tried this it works really well.

GTQG Auction Quilt and New Patterns to be listed in Shop

x

GTQG AUCTION QUILT AND NEW PATTERNS TO BE LISTED IN SHOP
x

x

x

I feel like I've been pulled in a hundred direction, so I've not posted as usual. Our quilt guild is having an auction for a quilt and had to show you some pictures of it. I love it because I heart log cabins and love the applique details on it. I believe it's a king, oh I want to win this one myself. You can click on the top picture to see it better.
x

I'm trying to finish up some projects in between running the road and planning for a July 4Th weekend up at the lake. Our son will move the following week to Houston and it will be good to have him closer to home. Hope to post more often.
x

I thought I would show you some of the new patterns I'm going to list in the shop, http://calamityjanescottage.com/ , hopefully tomorrow. Husbands birthday will be happening and then he has to work nights, so it will be an early celebrating. I realized I said I was 55 in a post below and I'm only 54, don't want to rush things and didn't think about it till I figured how old he was going to be. Anyway, I will put them online soon.

I did the random thing-a-majig and this is the number it came up with. Oh I'll tell you in a minute. I'll give you a hint, the winner is a girl...
x
OK, this is what I came up with, but wait I need to tell you a little bit more I added to the giveaway as for as names. I took my last 4 post from the giveaway post and if you made a comment you got another chance for each time. Thought I would surprise everyone with that little add-on. So you just never know what I might do and LOOK for another one coming soon.

x

I guess I can throw away these little bitty pieces of fabric, that's about what it comes down to when I go through my fabric. But look what you can piece together and make out of the smallest amounts, the coupon book was made out of scraps.
x
The giveaway this time included an apron, a coupon book with little credit card cubby hole or business cards if you need to give any out while your at the grocery store and a crochet dishcloth. I'm back hooking at the age of 55. Didn't think that would happen. LOL

Last day to enter for giveaway and Quilt Guild Meeting

Last day to enter for giveaway and Quilt Guild Meeting
x
Just a reminder about the surprise giveaway below. I will announce the winner on Tuesday. I worked on something to giveaway if the winner wants handmade and I also put a package together if the winner wanted something to work with. Can't wait to find out who it is.
X
It's been kinda busy around here, my son is moving from Dallas, Texas to Houston, Texas and we helped out. He is here at this time and will be going to Houston this week to look for an apartment.
X
We had our quilt guild meeting this last Thursday and I could only get close ups of the quilts. I was too for back when they had them open. Kay McGee was our speaker and she takes old quilts that might have holes in them or just tops that never got quilted and makes them into treasures. She gives them new life, now these are quilts that needed to be taken and cared for. You should of seen the before pictures. The blocks were wavy and you couldn't have even quilted them the way some of them were pieced. She adds borders or appliques to them.
So I'm leaving you with some of her quilts.

Well, we've made 35 years come June 22ND and don't you wish you could just capture the old feelings you had when you were so young. Oh, I would say our love has grown and I always think I could not love him more, but as the years go by, he is my one friend I can always count on and true love is when you grow old together.

Cutting Table Full!!!

Cutting Table Full!!!

x

Oh, I've had one of those weeks and we are leaving today to go see my son and pick up our travel trailer. I have never moved it from when I did Canton, Texas. Anyway, the sewing table is full and I haven't had time to sew that much.

x

I wanted to finish my purse before leaving. Why I get so excited when I make something out of scraps and use some of my stash up. I did make my wallet to hold the business cards and my receipts. Will see, but today doesn't look like I'll have time either.

x

I think it's time for another surprise giveaway, so be looking for that next week.

x

Hope you all have a great weekend, I know I am, seeing my son and doing handwork on the way.

Mark off the Graduation Gift

Mark off the Graduation Gift

x

I finished Hillary's bag for her cruise vacation. I hope it's not to big, but it will hold a beach towel and whatever she needs to tote around. There are pockets all the way around and one big enough for magazines.I ended up doing a little make-up bag with her initial on it, that's where I'll put her money. I think money is what they really want. Isn't she cute, love her graduation card.

x

I'm off tomorrow to sew with a group of ladies. Maybe I'll take pictures of projects everyone is working on to post.
