Quilt Festival Part 4 and Little Dress and Jacket Made with Texture Magic

This is a hurry up post, sorry for the little girls dress sideways, but we are heading out the door to Virginia. I'll be gone for awhile, but wanted to post some of the best for last pictures.
x
The jacket and little girls dress are some of the items I displayed while I demonstrated the Texture Magic at the Festival.
x
I finally got to meet Nedra at Quilt Festival, she is so nice, just as I thought she would be. Then there is Kelly and Barbara. Kelly had a booth at Festival, she is one talented lady. Dorothy, a friend from our Bee and is standing by a friend of hers quilt that was entered in the Quilt Festival.
x
Now for my favorite quilt, it is the one with the little village. The pictures does not do it justice. She sewed little small ric-rac all over. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.
x
And last I had to stop this lady and take her picture, isn't she something.
x
Sorry for such a rush post, but Keep Stitchen' till I get back.

I Will Never Work With This Fabric Again!!! LOL

x
Bet ya thought I was talking about some quilting fabric, no, the grand babies needed their costumes before Saturday, due to a party they are going to. I will say it again, "I will never work with this fabric again..." You can't iron it without putting a towel over it, because it has sparkles that stick to all things hot and you talk about slippery. I will find another source for the future costumes. I have made many, but tried this fabric for these.

x
It was funny the first time the oldest saw her mermaid pattern. Her face told it all to me. She wanted to be a mermaid like Ariel. When she saw her feet was not going in the tail it kinda upset her. Mimi, I really wish my feet could go down in the tail. The end of the tail is wrapped around her wrist. I told her she couldn't walk, she would have to swim to her party. After she tried it on for the fitting, she was happy. I'll try to post pictures of them.
x
On Snow White's bag I embroidered
x
"They say an apple a day
keeps the Doctor away"
I took a bite
and slept all night.
(Till Prince Daddy
woke me with a kiss)
x
I knew this month was going to be busy and I'm sorry I haven't visited or posted. It bound to slow down soon.
x
I have been working with my Texture Magic will post pictures soon. I will be at the Quilt Market and Quilt Festival showing Demo's in Painted Pony's booth on Saturday. Please stop by if you can.

What I worked on this weekend

What I worked on this weekend
x

My husband and son went to work on their deer lease so I had all day Saturday to play. I just love those days. Bought hamburger meat to grill for when they got home, so I didn't even have to stay in the kitchen. Yea!!!

x

Sewing room here I come. I needed some little gift bags for a couple of friends and thought since fall is in the air, the embroidery design would work on some weaver cloth I had.

x

x
Another baby quilt with Texture Magic. One of the shops I visited, had lots of quilting fabric but no one to make a sample for the product. So I volunteered. I will think twice next time on this offering. But I know it will help them sell the product. Very easy, but I need more time.

x
x
This is a beaded pillow I'm making, still working on this project.
x

x
This is a sneak peek of a pattern I've made. Hope to have it up on Etsy soon. It's finished, just have to learn how to do a PDF file.
x
I know I didn't post pictures of our guild meeting and there is a reason for it. I was in the show and tell line and forgot all about taking pictures of all the other quilts. I'm bad...

I've been away having FUN!

I've been on the road visiting my son in Houston and going to Fabric and Quilt Shops showing them the new product Texture Magic. They are so thrilled seeing something new to add to their lines and seeing us girls (quilters and sewers) minds start rolling with new projects and where all they can put it. If they want to see it where customers are, they start gathering around and just keep feeling it.

Off to Quilt Guild and I'll be back with photo's tonight.

I just love blogland. I have met some great and talented people and having a giveaway like this has introduced me to new blogs that I added to my list. Projects and new ideas all over the place out there.
X
One of the talented girls is Belinda over at, http://browndirtcottage.blogspot.com/ . If you haven't visited her blog you need to hop on over and see what all she works on. She had a little surprise giveaway and I won. Yippee, (Is that a word?) here in Texas it is. Some of the cutest pieces of Halloween fabric and rick-rack. Can't wait to make something with it. I opened it so fast I forgot to take a picture of it all wrapped up and tied with rick-rack. Thank you so much Belinda.

I had to take a picture of my new wheels. When we get a car or a truck we drive it till it dies. Well you all know my car died and this is my pride and joy. Mr. DH insisted it have a navigation on it so I want get lost on my new adventure. Pretty soon you probably want have to keep your hands on the steering wheel, just punch in where you want to go.

Thank you all who entered the giveaway, wish I had something for everyone. I'll be thinking of what to do for the next one. I sure like the way Belinda does her giveaways.

A Girl Can Never Have Enough Purses!

A Girl Can Never Have Enough Purses

I just had to add this to the jumper. My grand daughter, which is only 5, grabs her purse if she is going out the door. I took the picture outside and the texture does show up better. I sewed a certain design on the yoke and purse with red thread. When I did the flower I did stippling with a nylon thread. I like this better.
X
I promise I'll take pictures of something else tomorrow. We are meeting to finish up our charity quilts, I need to remember the camera.
X
You might can click on the top picture and enlarge it if you would like to see it bigger.

I need a close up so you can see all the detail of the yoke. Texture Magic really works magic. I love it. Working on the backpack and trying it on flowers, can't wait. I only put it on the front yoke of the dress and different fabric on the back.

Quilts I brought to finish at the retreat and Texture Magic

Quilts I brought to finish at the retreat and
Texture Magic
x
I should of posted these pictures a few days ago, but at the retreat we decided to each make a quilt and donate them to a Children's Home. We selected an easy pattern and one of the ladies in our bee is taking the time to quilt them for us. Binding will be done on Thursday and maybe I can post some pictures. So time does fly when girl's are having fun.
x
Here are a couple of quilts, I know I've showed pieces of them, but I did get to put them together at the quilt retreat. The first one (pictured above) is a baby quilt that really needs to be finished. I have a problem wanting to move on to new projects.
x

The one below still needs one more small border. It will be for a table. Love red and yellow.

x

Texture Magic is so much fun to work with. If you go to Moda Bake Shop , Kim made a pillow using it. So cute!!! I have Texture Magic in my shop @ Calamity Jane's Cottage . Come on back for finished projects.
